Floorspace was established in 1998 as a property development and lettings business.
Floorspace operates throughout South Manchester in areas such as: Didsbury, Chorlton, Whalley Range, Fallowfield, Rusholme, Victoria Park, Levenshulme and the City Centre. Floorspace is fully setup as a management agency and can provide services ranging from tenant finding, rent collection, full management and maintenance service, property acquisition and developments to turnkey investments and portfolio management.
Floorspace is renowned for quality of service in the student and professional lettings markets. This reputation is based on simple principles: to provide high quality houses, at competitive prices, with a guarantee of excellent customer service. These principles were proven when Floorspace was awarded ‘Landlord of the Year’ 2015 by the University of Manchester’s Student Union and Manchester Student Homes. Floorspace won ‘Landlord of the Year’ again in both 2017 and 2018 when the award was presented by Manchester Student Homes.
Founded by Karl Kuhwald, a graduate in Estate Management from The University of Central England after gaining experience working as an Estate Agent in both London and Manchester for three years. Karl’s love for property and passion for development was the main driver of growth for over fifteen years, making Floorspace a very successful and effective landlord and investor in the South Manchester student and professional property market. Karl employed a hands-on approach with both managing and developing the portfolio until his untimely passing in November 2015.
Karl’s wife Lisa now oversees the business after her continued involvement for over eighteen years. She graduated from Hull University with a degree in Chemistry, has worked as a teacher and had a successful career in medical sales. Her experience with Floorspace has nurtured a keen eye for detail and a love of interior design.
Anna joined our team in 2019, as a Senior Property Manager and is responsible for running the office in Didsbury. She has over 9 years experience in lettings and property management, predominately in the student and HMO sector. Anna has great interpersonal skills and always goes the extra mile to help, resulting in excellent customer service across all aspects of the business.
Kane, with his positive and calm character has over 5 years’ experience in property management, which has given him an acute understanding of high quality customer service. He now takes a leading role in managing our properties, making sure any issues are dealt with quickly and professionally.
Our man on the ground is Garry; a very honest, reliable and skilled maintenance man. He insists repairs to are done thoroughly and correctly, he keeps all the properties in tip top condition with the help of our loyal base of sub-contractors.
Looking after our accounts is the lovely Mary Heneghan, working part time in the business, Mary keeps track of all of our financials.
